As Spain does not participate in the European Unitary Patent system, it was necessary to validate European patent No. EP4231204 at the OEPM in order to obtain protection rights for it in Spain. Once validated, the European patent confers the same rights as a Spanish national patent. In effect, the European patent becomes a Spanish national patent.
